The 41st Annual Maui Marathon & the 8th Annual Maui Half Marathon will be held on Sunday, September 18th, 2011. Good luck to all participates who traveled  from all over the world to be a part of this yearly event.

For the safety of participants and others using the roads, please use extreme caution and plan to spend extra time to reach your destinations this weekend. 

Please be advised that the Ka’anapali and Lahaina shuttle will not be able to pick up or drop off guests at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa on Sunday while the Maui Marathon is taking place. For the convenience of The Westin Maui Resort & Spa guests, there will be a shuttle stop added Sunday only fronting the Whaler’s Condo just beyond the marathon Start/Finish line for pick-up and drop-off.  

Shuttle operation at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa will return to normal as soon as all marathon barricades have been removed later in the afternoon.

Please be advised of the marathon start times below.
Saturday – September 17th
8a:          Maui Tacos 5K Fun Run  
3p:          The Front Street Mile

Sunday – September 18th
530a:     Maui Marathon
530a:     Maui Half Marathon

The Maui Marathon route, which begins behind the Queen Kaahumanu Center in Kahului on Wakea Ave at 5:30am and ends at Whalers Village in Ka’anapali in Ka’anapali at approximately 2:30pm, will be well marked.

The Maui Half Marathon begins at 5:30am at the Whalers Village, runs out to Launiopoko Park and then back to Whalers Village. Police and volunteers will be stationed along the route to assist with traffic flow. Northbound Front Street will be open, Southbound, the farthest left lane, will be used by runners from 6:00am until 1:30pm.

Ka’anapali Resort will be significantly impacted from 4:30am to 2:30pm, however traffic will still flow through the resort but at a slower pace. For more information on the races, please visit www.mauimarathonhawaii.com
